Hi:

I read in the local paper that jury selection is on Monday with trial to start immediately afterward. Since I have limited trial watching (exclusive Court TV). For the most part jury selection can take days. Why so fast here?

Thank you!

Anyone have more specifics on this trial? I can't seem to find any more information other than he killed to people and his tril starts Mar. 10 on In Session Television.

Many thanks!

This link says the crime was commited in 2005 April 12th..

You have 2006 on your story..This will be interesting to see what this evidence is against Richard Gagnon other then the bragging he has claimed to have done.. The Pros. says he know things even the police didn't know.. and he must have been at the crime scene..
What do you thnk??

Well, This trial was a fast one. The big witness was Bambi Benette, she was to take the stand, she never did..
The pros. probably wanted to see what the defendant had to say, and save her for the rebuttal case. I think the Pros. really took a chance not putting Bambi on the stand in the regular case. If Richard Gagnon didn't take the stand in his defence, she would not be able to testify because she would have nothing to rebutt against Richard.I think we will see a rebuttal case today other wise this was a waste of the tax payers money, because the whole case would have to be dicided on the testimony og the snitch, Mr. Mullins.
Even though in my opinion he was credible as a witness, I don't think that would be enough to convict Mr. Gagnon..

Well I was wrong about the rebuttal, I don't know this trial was weak to say the least..
The jury might think Mr Mullins is tellin the truth, Iduno..
If he is found guilty he willhave a great appeal case In my opinion..
The closing from Mr Hembee..what a sleeper, it might be the southern way of closing but I did not get it I was sleeping.......

Hey there

The trial is already over, it was fast.
Richard Gagnon has been found guilty..

I was shocked, the case was weak and the jury must have relied on the snitch,(Mr.Mullins). I think there is a good case for ab appeal here.

We had a snitch..
We also had the words of the defendant.
He used the word "WE" when refering to the crime.
There was also a mystery bleeder, blood found that didn't match anybody killed or questioned.
Richard said in a letter he was worried about the mystery blood, he said he knows it was not his, and he said he knows it was not Bambi's which lead the Pros. to believe he knew who it belonged to and the jury must have believed the pros. findings.

I think it was a poor case, and am real surprized it even went to trial..
That is why in my opinion an appeal is on the way.. TC

TC - I haven't check in on courttv.com in a while and now see it's changed. Remember the main page used to have tiral updates, photos, background info on the story? The new cnn page doesn't have this info and the old boards are insession.

Hey KD
You need to go to cnn.com/crime and they will have more info on the trial..It is Now Trutv.

Yes I remember when courtv was gavel to gavel and the rarely broke away.. It was great Now on trutv they are always breaking away and you miss so mush to stay informed... I wish there was a transcript available on-line to follow gavel to gavel so One could really be informed to blog.. With this there were so many bloggers who complained about the stuff we were missing and we weren't sure why the jury found what they found.. So we were all speculating and to me that is the same as assumeing.. and we all know what that does to you and me, makes an ass-u & me

The insession board is pretty informitive.....

I was on a jurry not long ago, and most of the jurors were saying guitly and 2 people were not, now what would happen to the defendent if it was a hung jurry? could the case be tryed again if hung? And if found giulty they can get a appeal correct?

I watched this trail on tv & I do not believe this man is guilty! Cant believe the jury would believe this Mullins guy. The girl Bambi Bennett is a admitted druggie & when interviewed by court tv she was "OUT TO SEA".Hope he has filed an appeal.
